For private educational institutions (PEIs) in Singapore, EduTrust is a voluntary certification program. If a private educational institution satisfies the requirements for EduTrust accreditation in the following areas: Management of the school, Provision of educational services, and financial health, it will be given this designation. The Committee for Private Education (CPE), a statutory authority established in 2009 to oversee, advance, and increase quality standards in the private education industry, leads the EduTrust accreditation program. Although the edutrust certification program is optional, private educational institutions that accept students from outside the country must be EduTrust-certified. This is done to fulfil one of the requirements the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority set forth for issuing Student Passes.
Administration Of Edutrust And Know Its Policies
The statutory registration standards and legal obligations that all private education schools operating in and out of Singapore must meet are outlined in the Enhanced Registration Framework (ERF), established under the Private Education Act and the Private Education Regulations. The Private Education Act established the Committee for Private Education as the sectoral regulator in charge of regulating the private education industry and is responsible for its administration.
To safeguard the interests of the children enrolled in their schools, the Enhanced Registration Framework strives to improve the general quality of private educational institutions in Singapore and ensure that they are of a specific acceptable standard. It accomplishes this by enhancing the Enhanced Registration Framework’s features: Registration, Corporate Governance, Quality of Provisions, and Information Transparency.
